Guerrero Student Center Abuelitas and Abuelitos meet with students during our monthly AROMAS program. AROMAS stands for Abuelitas (os) Reaching Out to Mentor and Apapachar Students. The monthly meetings are informal and include food and discussion topics chosen by the abuelitas and abuelitos. Students can ask to be assigned to an abuelita or abuelito mentor.
If you are interested in volunteering and becoming an AROMAS abuelita or abuelito please call (520) 621-5627 or contact Elizabeth Soltero at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Desk Assistant Jobs at the Guerrero Student CenterClick or enter to reveal information below
Every year, the Guerrero Student Center employs 5-6 undergraduate student workers. In addition to staffing our front office, our desk assistants create a welcoming environment for all of our visitors, help answer questions and solve problems students or staff members may have, and help put on programs for our students at the Center and larger UA community. Student workers gain professional experience in programming and office management skills, while gaining knowledge regarding social justice, and resources on campus and in the Tucson community.
The number of positions available varies every year, and hiring is usually done before Fall semester begins. Desk Assistants work 10 hours a week, and are paid $11.00/ hour. If you are interested in applying, contact Yvonne Ballesteros at firstname.lastname@example.org. Must be Work Study eligible.
